Gus G.

Under the name Gus G., Konstantinos Karamitroudis has, since the late 1990s, developed a career rooted in heavy metal and melodic power metal, with a guitar style that blends rhythmic precision, fast solos and a strong sense of melody. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, he started playing guitar at a young age in a musically inclined family environment and briefly attended the Berklee College of Music before committing fully to the metal scene. Gus G. founded Firewind, a band that became the throughline of his career and allowed him to establish songwriting situated between hard rock, European melodic metal and virtuosic lead playing. In parallel he has taken part in several projects and in 2009 joined Ozzy Osbourne’s band as lead guitarist, appearing on the album Scream in 2010. His solo discography continues this identity with more direct formats focused on riffing, instrumental passages and a modern heavy aesthetic, notably I Am the Fire (2014), Brand New Revolution (2015), Fearless (2018) and Quantum Leap (2021). With Firewind as well as under his own name, Gus G. maintains an approach where technical skill serves well-structured, accessible songs.
