Info
Bernard Allison, son of Luther Allison, a major figure in the blues, has built his career away from his father’s shadow, with a sound forged in Chicago and songwriting open to soul, funk and rock. With a cutting guitar, expressive slide and warm vocals, he moves forward without unnecessary effects, privileging groove, timing and the band’s dynamics. His tracks alternate gripping riffs and slower, more spacious passages, with a way of raising tension in small increments, break after break, chorus after chorus. On stage, interaction is central: a solid rhythm section, driving bass lines and tight arrangements that leave the guitarist just enough room to tell a story.
Bernard Allison will be at Elmediator, L’Archipel Perpignan, in Perpignan on 15 March 2026. Between nods to the Chicago school and his own pieces, the set unfolds as contemporary blues—precise in the details and generous in intent. On the bill are firmly rooted themes, memorable choruses and a clear sound, gritty when needed, that favors impact and nuance over display. It’s an occasion to catch a musician who extends the legacy by putting it at the service of the present.
