LSD and the Search for God

Active since the mid‑2000s, the shoegaze project LSD and the Search for God is rooted in San Francisco, California, within the American indie scene shaped by the genre's revival. The band develops a sound that blends saturated guitars, layers of feedback, slow rhythms and vocals often submerged in reverb, at the intersection of shoegaze, dream pop and a psychedelic space‑rock aesthetic. LSD and the Search for God first drew attention with a self‑titled EP released in 2007; its tracks circulated widely through specialist networks and helped establish the band on club and mid‑size venue stages. After several years focused on live shows and touring within alternative circuits, the group returned in 2017 with the EP “Heaven Is a Place,” which extends an approach built on dense sonic textures and melancholic melodies. In a full electric lineup the band favors immersive performances, playing with volume and layers of sound, and it has secured a lasting place among North American shoegaze projects while maintaining an intentionally limited discography.
