Horse Jumper of Love

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Horse Jumper of Love formed in 2013 around Dimitri Giannopoulos, John Margaris and Jamie Vadala-Doran. The trio crafts a slow, hazy indie rock that sits between slowcore, slacker rock and shoegaze, characterized by thick guitars, restrained tempos and vocals often mixed back in the soundscape. Horse Jumper of Love released a self-titled debut in 2016, then joined Run for Cover Records for So Divine in 2019. The band subsequently began to circulate its music beyond the local scene, notably with an Audiotree session and several opening slots for Duster. Their songwriting broadened without abandoning its melodic, introspective core: Natural Part appeared in 2022, followed by Heartbreak Rules in 2023—where the shoegaze imprint becomes more pronounced—and Disaster Trick in 2024. Throughout their trajectory, Horse Jumper of Love remain committed to a kind of gentle tension, balancing diffuse saturation, repeating motifs and songs that advance through subtle variations rather than sudden ruptures.
