Bag Raiders

Formed in Sydney in 2006, Bag Raiders brings together Jack Glass and Chris Stracey, two Australian musicians who moved from formal training to an electronic writing style centered on alternative dance, house, synthpop and indietronica. The duo first drew attention with a series of EPs released from 2007, then with Turbo Love! in 2008, before gaining wider traction on the Australian electro scene thanks to remixes and tracks designed for both live and club settings. Bag Raiders then refined a melodic and direct sound, powered by clearly legible synth lines, flexible house rhythms and a pop approach that gives substantial room to vocals and choruses. Their first album, Bag Raiders, appeared in 2010, with tracks such as Shooting Stars, Way Back Home and Sunlight, which durably establish the group's identity. Shooting Stars later enjoyed a second life internationally several years after its release, thanks to its circulation on the Internet. After this initial period, Bag Raiders continued their journey with the EPs Nairobi/Savannah in 2014, Waterfalls in 2015, Friend Inside in 2015 and Checkmate in 2016, followed by the Horizons album in 2019. The duo has since continued to release new tracks and collaborations, remaining true to luminous, danceable pop electronic music built around sharp melodies.
