Alan Braxe
French house producer and electronic composer Alan Braxe, born Alain Quême, emerged in the late 1990s as part of the French Touch wave, tied to the Paris and Versailles scenes. He gained international recognition with the Stardust project alongside Thomas Bangalter and Benjamin Diamond, authors of the 1998 single 'Music Sounds Better With You', before developing a solo career focused on very melodic house informed by disco, pop and bright synths. In the early 2000s Braxe released several notable maxis with Fred Falke, founded the Vulture Music label, and produced and remixed for artists across both pop and electronic genres, refining a style that is simple in structure yet precise in harmony. The 2005 compilation 'The Upper Cuts' collects this first period and established Alan Braxe as a reference point for a French house centered on supple basslines, filtered loops and a strong melodic sense. After a quieter phase, he returned to prominence in the 2010s and 2020s, in studio and on stage, notably through his collaborative project with DJ Falcon and the album 'Step By Step' (2022), which refreshed his sonic codes in a more synth-pop, contemplative format.
