Ken Pomeroy

Raised in Moore, Oklahoma, and a member of the Cherokee Nation, Ken Pomeroy has since adolescence developed a writing rooted in folk, Americana, and alt-country, with a marked affinity for stripped-down ballads, intimate narratives, and soundscapes tied to Oklahoma. Active onstage from the age of 13, she first gained recognition in local and regional circuits, before releasing several EPs and her first solo album, Christmas Lights in April, in 2021. Ken Pomeroy's music blends acoustic guitar, hushed vocals, and tight country-folk formats, with particular attention to storytelling and a sober aesthetic. In 2023, two tracks, 'Pareidolia' and 'Cicadas', appear in the series Reservation Dogs, significantly widening her audience beyond Oklahoma. The following year, Ken Pomeroy works on the Twisters film soundtrack with a cover of 'Wall of Death' alongside Wilderado and James McAlister, and signs with Rounder Records. After also touring with John Moreland, she releases her second album, Cruel Joke, in 2025, where her American folk more clearly meets her Cherokee roots and the Red Dirt heritage of her state. Based in Tulsa, Ken Pomeroy today moves between folk scenes, indie country, and film/TV-related projects.
