Jobi Riccio
Born in Colorado and based in Nashville, Jobi Riccio develops a songwriting voice at the crossroads of country, folk, Americana and a more assertive indie rock, with songs rooted in intimate observation rather than showmanship. She began to attract attention on the American scene with a repertoire where the codes of roots music converse with a contemporary sensibility, then broadened her audience with Whiplash in 2023, a debut album centered on coming of age. Since then she has evolved her approach by giving greater space to electric guitars and tighter arrangements, while retaining a direct vocal delivery and a clear focus on the lyrics. Her path has taken her to the Grand Ole Opry, to the set of CBS Saturday Morning, and on tour alongside Lucius, Jason Isbell and Iron & Wine. Between Colorado, Tennessee and the landscapes of the American Southwest, Jobi Riccio places her songs within a precise geography, traversed by grief, doubt, desire and family ties.
