Margo Price
Based in Nashville since the early 2000s, Margo Price develops songwriting rooted in American country and Americana, marked by autobiographical narratives and references to folk and classic rock. Born in Aledo, Illinois, she played in several local bands before founding Buffalo Clover and later the project Margo and the Pricetags, which gradually placed her on Nashville's independent scene. Margo Price released her debut solo album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, in 2016 on Third Man Records, followed by All American Made in 2017, where her writing expanded to address social and political questions. With That's How Rumors Get Started (2020) and Strays (2023), issued by Loma Vista Recordings, she accentuated the intersections between country, rock and soul while retaining a strong narrative dimension. Her records are often developed in close collaboration with musician Jeremy Ivey and producers from the alternative country and rock scenes, and form part of the revival of a roots-tinged country aesthetic sometimes described as outlaw. Alongside tours in North America and Europe, Margo Price published a memoir, Maybe We'll Make It, in 2022, which extends the personal themes already present in her songs into the literary sphere.
