Le Rubrique

Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Le Rubrique has developed since the late 1990s a career as a DJ, producer and live artist nourished by 1990s house, which he began playing in 1999. His activity later expanded into production and stage formats such as The MPC Orchestra, a live project that extends his work around club music. Under the name Le Rubrique he has released tracks on labels like Sonar Kollektiv, NDYD and Footjob, while running the SUCIO event series and label in Frankfurt. Le Rubrique’s repertoire sits between house, disco, funk and Afro influences, with an approach centred on groove, danceable rhythms and selections that link house heritage with a more percussive vein. Both in DJ sets and live performances, Le Rubrique belongs to a German electronic scene attentive to the intersections between club culture, disco references and funk traditions.
