Ultraligera
Born in Madrid in 2021, Ultraligera belongs to the Spanish alternative rock scene, blending indie rock, grunge, alternative pop and echoes of the post‑punk revival. The band recorded its first tracks in an old caserío near Bilbao before signing an initial deal and shaping the EP «Europa» (2021) in the studio, which established the foundations of a sound both abrasive and melodic. Fronted by Javier Gismero “Gisme” on vocals and lyrics, the lineup includes Coque Fernández and Kash on guitars, Santi Urruela on bass and Martín Aparicio on drums, building a group dynamic centered on guitar energy and dry rhythms, tempered by more melodic passages. Ultraligera develops narrative, introspective lyrics populated by characters at odds with their urban environment—material found on the EP and in singles released between 2021 and 2023, including “Amor, amor” and the ballad “Europa”, revisited in 2023 with Gabriel de la Rosa of Shinova. In 2024 Ultraligera signed with Warner Music and released their debut album «Pelo de foca», followed by a club tour and a steady presence on Spanish festival stages such as Conexión Valladolid, Cooltural Fest and El Jardín de las Delicias, as well as a notable appearance at the open‑house day of the Congress of Deputies in Madrid.
