La Maravillosa Orquesta del Alcohol

Born in Burgos in the early 2010s, La Maravillosa Orquesta del Alcohol (La M.O.D.A.) belongs to a folk‑rock vein that mixes punk energy, bluegrass influences and songs in Spanish. The group brings together several musicians around an acoustic setup (guitars, brass, accordion, banjo) and develops a direct yet melodic sound, driven by a rough voice and marked rhythmic work. After early self‑produced recordings, La M.O.D.A. attracted attention on the Spanish independent scene with the album ¿Quién nos va a salvar? (2013), which established a repertoire geared toward intensive touring and festivals. The trajectory continued with La primavera del invierno (2015) and Salvavida (de las balas perdidas) (2017), where La M.O.D.A. emphasized writing in Spanish and lyrics focused on everyday life, social tensions and personal relationships. A new phase opened with Ninguna ola (2020), recorded with producer Raül Refree and marked by more contemplative atmospheres, followed by Nuevo cancionero burgalés (2022), a reworking of popular songs from the Burgos region. Between club concerts, large festival stages and regular tours, La Maravillosa Orquesta del Alcohol has established itself as a live band whose identity rests on the fusion of acoustic folk, direct rock and dark lyricism.
