Sebastian Schub

Born in Hamburg and settled in London in his teens, Sebastian Schub develops a folk- and indie-influenced songwriting rooted in the singer-songwriter tradition, with a deep voice, a foreground acoustic guitar, and a direct approach to song. Before his first official releases, Schub spent a long time building his career outside the digital circuit, busking on the streets of London as in Dublin, then on Camden's open-mic stage, notably at the Spiritual Bar, a waypoint for young British singer-songwriters. This fieldwork feeds a repertoire centered on pared-down songs, between contemporary folk, acoustic pop and discreet rock tones, where interpretation occupies a central place. His public emergence later comes through social media, which broadens the audience for performances first honed live, without breaking with this direct, in-person training. Between British heritage and German background, Sebastian Schub sits in an anglophone singer-songwriter scene attentive to melodies, to lyrics and to a sober vocal presence, shaped as much by busking as by small venues.
