Darren Kiely
Born in County Cork, Ireland, Darren Kiely has developed a singer-songwriter voice that sits between contemporary folk-pop and the heritage of traditional Irish music. Trained from a young age on the tin whistle and then the fiddle, before also learning guitar, Darren Kiely grounds his songs in clear melodies, acoustic arrangements and direct singing, in an aesthetic that blends Celtic tradition with recent American folk. He began singing in 2019, after a career marked by several distinctions in the traditional Irish repertoire, and moved to New York in 2022 to further his personal project. Since then, Darren Kiely has released several singles, including "How Could You Love Me", "Ella", "Time To Leave" and "Mom & Dad", which sketch a world centered on intimate narratives, family relationships and moments of turning. His path has taken him to perform in both Ireland and the United States, notably on stages in New York and Nashville, in a register where folk storytelling remains at the forefront.
