Mikaela Davis
Born in Rochester, New York, Mikaela Davis has carved out an unusual path centered on the harp, approaching the instrument outside the classical sphere and placing it within a songwriter’s idiom with indie, folk‑rock, alt‑country and psychedelic shades. Trained as a harpist and an alumnus of the Crane School of Music, Davis introduced her first songs on a self‑titled album in 2012, followed by Fortune Teller in 2014 and Delivery in 2018. Her music blends the harp’s clarity with roots guitars, supple harmonies and an approach that can evoke both Californian soft rock and more American strains of country rock and jam. Over the years she has also performed on stages adjacent to indie rock and the Grateful Dead milieu, collaborating with the likes of Bob Weir and Wolf Bros, Phil Lesh and Circles Around the Sun. With And Southern Star (2023) and Graceland Way (2026), Mikaela Davis continues an evolution toward broader songwriting, keeping the harp central without confining the songs to a single register.
