KABEAUSHÉ

Under the name KABEAUSHÉ, Kabochi Gitau develops a project born in Kenya and now based between Nairobi and Berlin, at the crossroads of experimental pop, rap, rock and songwriting nourished by both cinema and the visual arts. A singer, rapper and producer, Kabeaushé emerged from East Africa’s alternative scenes before performing on European stages linked to hybrid music and performative forms. His tracks move through contrasts — between pop melodies, rhythmic ruptures, harsher passages, baroque accents and a marked use of narration, singing and declamation. Kabeaushé often builds his projects around distinct worlds and characters, which gives his music a theatrical dimension without taking it out of the song format. On stage he extends this approach in concerts where physical presence, performance and spatial staging occupy a central role.
