After

Formed in 2023 in Los Angeles, the American pop duo After brings together Graham Epstein and Justine Dorsey around songwriting focused on the song and vocal harmonies. After’s first release came the same year with the single “Something Special”, quickly followed by “In a City Called Garden” and “The Dove”, which established a decidedly pop direction. In 2024, After continued with “Obvious”, “The Element” and “The Story”, a series of tracks that prepared the transition to a longer format. On April 4, 2025, After EP was released via 7th Heaven and Ultraworld, featuring among others “Obvious”, “Ever” and “300 Dreams”, and outlining an aesthetic that blends direct melodies with contemporary production. Later in 2025, After EP 2 was issued on Mom + Pop Music, led by the singles “Deep Diving” and “Outbound” and also including “The Story”, confirming After’s interest in pop narratives developed across multiple chapters. Both EPs received mixed critical reception, including a 4.5/10 rating from Pitchfork, while firmly positioning the duo within the mid-2020s Los Angeles pop scene.
