Witch Post

Witch Post was born from the meeting of Scottish musician Dylan Fraser and American musician Alaska Reid, who hails from Montana. The project brings together two careers that had been pursued solo until now: one rooted in the British alternative scene, the other in American indie rock. The duo also shares a curious biographical detail: both come from towns that bear the same name, one in Scotland and the other in the United States. With Witch Post, these trajectories converge in a tight-band format focused on songwriting, guitars and a melodic tension that blends alternative rock, indie rock and rawer Scottish rock inflections. Their music relies on a direct aesthetic, with songs built around momentum, space and the contrast between electric nervousness and more open vocal lines. The name Witch Post refers to protective carvings that appeared in rural England in the 17th century — a reference the band uses as a symbolic anchor for its identity.
