Angelus Apatrida

Formed in Albacete in 2000, Angelus Apatrida built their reputation on the Spanish metal scene with fast, tense and very tight thrash metal, informed both by the genre’s classic register and a more contemporary approach to riffs and tempo changes. After releasing the demos Lost in the Realms of Orchinodaemon (2001) and Unknown Human Being (2003), the quartet consolidated around Guillermo Izquierdo, David G. Álvarez, José J. Izquierdo and Víctor Valera, with vocals in English and a more direct sound. Angelus Apatrida issued their first album, Evil Unleashed, in 2006 and Give ’Em War in 2007, before signing to Century Media in 2009 — a move that expanded their presence across Europe. The subsequent discography — Clockwork (2010), The Call (2012), Hidden Evolution (2015), Cabaret de la Guillotine (2018), Angelus Apatrida (2021) and Aftermath (2023) — demonstrates continuity in songwriting, balancing rhythmic aggression, twin guitars and melodic precision. Over numerous tours, Angelus Apatrida have shared bills with bands such as Arch Enemy, Havok, Slayer and Megadeth, and regularly played European venues and metal festivals.
