URNE

Based in London, URNE operates at the intersection of sludge metal, hardcore, thrash and more traditional heavy metal, with a marked taste for progressive developments and extended formats. The trio formed in the wake of Hang the Bastard—of which Angus Neyra and Joe Nally were members—before establishing themselves on the UK metal and hardcore scenes and then expanding their presence on stages and at festivals. URNE released Serpent & Spirit in 2021, its debut album where massive riffs meet post-hardcore tension and dark melodic lines. In 2023, A Feast on Sorrow, produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira, tightened the writing around a more direct sound and a register shaped by grief and loss. During this period URNE shared bills with bands such as Avatar, Alien Weaponry and Kvelertak, while also undertaking their own tours. Their third album, Setting Fire to the Sky, announced for January 2026, continues this trajectory with broader songwriting; its first single, “Harken The Waves,” features Troy Sanders of Mastodon.
