Andy Grammer
Born in Los Angeles in 1983 and raised in Chester, New York, Andy Grammer grew up in a musical environment alongside his father, singer Red Grammer. The American singer-songwriter emerged around the early 2010s after several years of playing on the streets of Santa Monica, developing a repertoire that blends pop, soul and acoustic songwriting. Discovered by a label, he released his self-titled debut in 2011, led by the single “Keep Your Head Up,” which established his direct style—accessible melodies, sing-along choruses and lyrics focused on resilience and everyday life. Grammer followed with “Magazines or Novels” in 2014 and “The Good Parts” in 2017, where the pop production opened to more R&B influences and electronic arrangements while retaining vocal prominence and a tightly structured verse-chorus songwriting approach. With “Naive” in 2019 he adopted a more introspective tone, addressing personal vulnerability while keeping a bright sound, and increased touring and collaborations across the North American pop scene, consolidating his position between mainstream radio and songwriter sensibility.
