Texas King

Based in London, Ontario, Canada, Texas King has been developing guitar-driven rock since the early 2010s, positioned between alternative rock, indie rock and the North American classic rock legacy. Formed around singer–guitarist Jordan MacDonald, the band constructs its songs from melodic riffs, vocals with soulful inflections, and choruses designed for the stage, with rhythms that remain close to traditional rock aesthetics while incorporating contemporary pop touches. Texas King drew attention with a self-titled debut EP released in 2013, which established them on Canada’s venue and festival circuit, before issuing the 2017 album “Circles,” where the sound sharpened toward a more assertive, tour-ready rock. Building on that foundation, Texas King released the EP “Changes” in 2021, marked by more personal songwriting and a balance between up-tempo tracks and more introspective pieces. Accustomed to national tours and opening slots for anglophone rock bands, Texas King is part of a Canadian scene in which live performance plays a central role in the project’s evolution.
