Games We Play
Games We Play is a pop‑punk project led by American singer‑songwriter Emmyn Calleiro. It took shape in Florida and later developed in Los Angeles within the North American alternative scene. Under this name, Calleiro crafts a direct, melodic songwriting style that draws on pop‑punk, emo‑pop and alternative rock, producing short songs focused on relationships, anxiety and the onset of adulthood, often with a touch of humour. Games We Play first gained attention through short videos and releases on streaming platforms, attracting the interest of the label Fueled By Ramen and enabling the project to evolve from a solo bedroom setup to touring and playing mid‑size venues. The release of the EP “Get A Job” in 2022 marked an important step, defining a sound dominated by fast guitars and instantly memorable choruses while leaving room for slower tracks. On stage, Games We Play is presented as a full band centered on Emmyn Calleiro and circulates within the American pop‑punk network, notably supporting established acts, consolidating an identity between early‑2000s heritage and contemporary internet culture.
