Dawn Brothers

Born on the Rotterdam scene, Dawn Brothers craft a rock sound tinged with Americana that draws heavily on soul, rhythm and blues, and the country rock of the 1960s and 1970s. The Dutch band gradually made its mark on the club and festival circuit in the Netherlands and across Europe, building a repertoire centred on songwriting supported by vocal harmonies, warm guitars and a pronounced groove. Since the second half of the 2010s, Dawn Brothers has recorded several albums, including “Stayin’ Out Late” (2017) and “Classic” (2018), which defined a sound combining live energy with carefully written arrangements. Built around Bas van Holt and his long-time collaborators, the line-up favours collective playing in which each instrument remains rooted in a roots tradition while leaving room for more pop or psychedelic detours. Dawn Brothers have also collaborated widely on the Dutch scene, notably with DeWolff and Tim Knol in the project “Next of Kin”, carrying this retro yet direct aesthetic through both studio work and live performance.
