Rooted in the Netherlands rock scene, Leif De Leeuw Band centers on guitarist Leif de Leeuw and since the early 2010s has developed a personal approach to blues rock and southern rock. The group has gradually made its mark on European club and festival circuits by focusing on long, heavily improvised concerts, where song structures serve as a base for extended instrumental exploration. Leif De Leeuw Band blends riffs inspired by 1970s rock, slide lines influenced by American blues and rhythm sections that verge on funk or groove, while giving significant attention to vocal work and guitar harmonies. Built as a full band rather than a sidemen project, the lineup revolves around a stable core supplemented occasionally by guests from the Dutch blues and rock scene. Through regular tours, live recordings and studio releases, Leif De Leeuw Band has consolidated a repertoire that mixes country-tinged ballads, instrumental pieces and more direct, stage-ready songs.
