On 6 November 2026 at Cheese & Grain in Frome, The Bluetones mark 30 years of their debut album Expecting To Fly with a set built around the record played in full. It’s a chance to hear the band lean into the crisp guitars and melodic, slightly bittersweet songwriting that made the album such a defining slice of mid-90s UK indie.
Alongside the full-album run, expect a wider sweep through their catalogue, from the breakthrough rush of “Slight Return” to the run of songs that followed on albums like Return to the Last Chance Saloon and Science & Nature. With Mark Morriss up front, backed by Adam Devlin, Scott Morriss and Eds Chesters, the original core line-up brings the same tight, song-first approach that’s kept them a fixture on stages long after britpop’s peak.
