On Friday 5 February 2027, Haken land in Bristol for a show at Trinity Centre, bringing their very specific brand of progressive metal: long-form songs that move through sudden time-signature turns, tight rhythmic puzzles and big, melodic vocal lines, with keyboards often steering the mood as much as the guitars.
Formed in London in 2007, the band built its reputation on ambitious, story-driven writing (Aquarius, Visions) before sharpening the balance between complexity and more direct hooks on The Mountain. Since then, they’ve kept pushing that crossover of prog rock and prog metal across records like Affinity, Vector, Virus and Fauna, always playing with tension between atmosphere and precision.
With support from Ihlo and Black Orchid Empire, this Bristol date should feel like a full-spectrum Haken night: technical without losing the sense of song, heavy without ditching the melody, and constantly shifting without losing the thread.
