The Skinner Brothers, a British independent band formed in London around Soul Boy, have from the start moved off the beaten track. Arriving in the capital with little means but a fixed idea, they quickly understood that the industry prefers projects that are already backed. After an initial burst of spotlight, notably as the opening act for Kasabian, the band chose not to chase validation: no label, no behind-the-scenes team, just songs written as closely as possible to lived experience and an energy designed for the live show.
On stage, their rock is direct, taut, and melodic, with a punky nervous energy and choruses that quickly stick. Through touring and doing things their own way, The Skinner Brothers have largely built a simple and direct connection with their audience, a broad community, sometimes distant from the codes of the traditional rock scene. On September 24, 2026, they will be at Patterns in Brighton, to continue writing this story as an independent act, unfiltered and unfettered.
