Hooverphonic

Hooverphonic will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen on 16 April 2027. Since 1995 the Belgian collective around Alex Callier and Raymond Geerts has moved its sound fluidly between trip-hop, electronica, dream pop and alternative rock. The band works with cinematic atmospheres, carefully crafted arrangements and instantly recognizable melodies, from the debut A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular with “2Wicky” to more recent material.

With the return of singer Geike Arnaert in 2020 that distinctive voice is once again front and centre. In 2021 Hooverphonic represented Belgium with “The Wrong Place”, followed by the albums Hidden Stories and Fake Is the New Dope. Live the group layers soundscapes: tight grooves, subtle electronics, warm guitars and a voice that shifts effortlessly between dreamy and direct. The set weaves new material through songs that have shaped their journey.

In Groningen you can expect an overview of nearly three decades of songs: nocturnal trip-hop, dreamy pop and infectious hooks, performed with attention to detail and a sound that spreads effortlessly across the venue.
