On 17 November 2026 at Bristol Beacon, Ben Folds brings his Paper Airplane Request Tour, a participatory concert where the crowd helps shape the night. American singer, songwriter and pianist, Folds came up through Ben Folds Five before carving a solo path that runs from piano-rock and sharp pop writing to chamber pieces and orchestral projects. On stage he balances clean, expressive playing with quick wit and a taste for turning surprises into songs.
The show unfolds in two parts. First, a set he curates from across his catalogue: favourites, deep cuts and the songs that trace his journey. Then the room steps in. After the break, requests fly to the stage on paper airplanes, and Folds builds the second half from what lands, shifting gears in real time, riffing, arranging and pulling the hall into the process. Bring a pre-made plane or fold one at the merch stand before the show; pens and paper are provided.
