Info

On 9 November 2026 Eyehategod play the Scala, 275 Pentonville Road, London N1 9NL, United Kingdom. Founded in the late ’80s in the New Orleans underground, the band stands for a sludge sound that interlocks slow doom, abrasive hardcore roots and dissonant blues. Characteristic are the wail of feedback, stoic, repetitive riffs and Mike IX Williams’ rough voice; on guitar Jimmy Bower holds the tone between grind and trance. The lyrics gropingly explore addiction, paranoia and the urban American South — an inward gaze carried by a heavy groove.

Live, Eyehategod work in contrasts: leaden, rolling tempos topple into short, punky bursts, the tension remaining jagged, never smoothed over. The setlist often draws on material from their formative years — In the Name of Suffering, Take as Needed for Pain, Dopesick, Confederacy of Ruined Lives — up through the comeback chapter with the self-titled album and A History of Nomadic Behavior. Not a nostalgia show, but a state: pressure, noise, friction. Anyone wanting to feel the NOLA lineage will encounter here the essence of what Eyehategod has been about for decades.
