Info
Charlie Houston lands at The Grace, London on 19 May 2026 with an alternative pop sound rooted in indie edges and clean, uncluttered melodies. Based in Toronto, the singer-songwriter writes from close range, exploring change, relationships and self-construction with a voice kept upfront while the guitars hold a steady tension. A queer Canadian artist who sometimes calls her music “tomboy pop,” she blends pop directness with a rougher grain and discreet experimental turns, keeping the song form tight. After a string of early tracks, her first album Big After I Die arrived in 2024 on Arts & Crafts, nine songs that sharpen this introspective line. On stage, the set moves between crisp hooks and denser textures, drawing on that record and newer material. She has previously shared bills with Charlotte Cardin, The Beaches and Hailey Blais, placing her at the crossroads of independent pop, songwriting and a more abrasive alternative sensibility.
Martha Jean opens the night in support.
