SWMRS bring their Northern California indie punk to The George Tavern, London, on 17 May 2026 for a one-off headline show marking ten years of their debut as SWMRS, Drive North. Formed in Oakland by brothers Max and Cole Becker when they were barely teenagers, the band has grown up on DIY stages, shaping tight, hook-forward songs with a restless punk edge. After years of shifting lineups and earlier incarnations, their younger brother Cade joined on bass in 2022, cementing a family core that now drives the project on record and on stage.

Drive North (2016) distilled their blend of punk rock, surf touches and alternative grit, with lyrics keyed to adolescence, internet culture and a sharp look at American life. The follow-up, Berkeley’s on Fire (2019), broadened the palette without losing the bite. This London date looks back to the record that set their course while tapping into the energy of a band whose chemistry is rooted in sibling interplay. SWMRS step into a small room with big choruses, revisiting the spark that first rallied their community and still fuels their live shows today.
