Gaffa Tape Sandy

Born in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and later based in Brighton, Gaffa Tape Sandy formed in 2015 around Kim Jarvis, Catherine Lindley‑Neilson and Robin Francis. As a trio, the band developed a tense, nervous garage rock at the intersection of garage punk, alternative rock and melodic indie rock, featuring short songs, abrasive guitars, a tight rhythm section and frequent shifts between catchy pop hooks and rougher bursts. After the single 'Smart Dressed Guy' in 2016, Gaffa Tape Sandy released the EP Spring Killing in 2017, which led, among other things, to an appearance on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury that year. The singles 'Beehive' (2017) and 'Meat Head' (2018) accompanied a steady presence on the UK and European club and festival circuit, as well as opening tours, notably with Indoor Pets. In 2019 Gaffa Tape Sandy released the EP Family Mammal on Alcopop! Records, before a first headlining tour was cut short in 2020. After a few years marked by more fragmented live activity, the trio returned with Split in 2023 and then released their debut album Hold My Hand, God Damn It in 2024. Since then Gaffa Tape Sandy has continued to operate between punk, indie and DIY scenes in a direct, fast and melodic register.
