First Aid Kit

On 1 December 2026 First Aid Kit will play at the Cirque Royal in Brussels. The Swedish duo of sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg have been crafting a distinctive English‑language folk for years, somewhere between indie folk, Americana and country folk. Their trademark: tight harmonies, instantly memorable melodies and arrangements that lean on acoustic guitars, pedal steel and a subtle rhythm section.

First Aid Kit stepped out of Sweden in the late 2000s when their cover of 'Tiger Mountain Peasant Song' by Fleet Foxes began circulating. After the EP Drunken Trees came The Big Black and the Blue (2010) and The Lion’s Roar (2012), records that sharpened their blend of North American tradition and pop sensibility. With Stay Gold (2014), Ruins (2018) and Palomino (2022) the sound widened without losing its core: clear melodies, intimate stories and country inflections. In 2021 Who by Fire appeared, a live tribute to Leonard Cohen.

On stage they alternate new tracks and crowd favourites, with close‑knit harmonies and songs that move from the small and intimate to the open and expansive. They have toured extensively across Europe and North America and have collaborated with, among others, Conor Oberst, Jenny Lewis, M. Ward, Tove Lo and Pink. In Brussels it’s about the songs: direct, warm and exactly where they need to land.
