Info

Ethel Cain, the project of American singer-songwriter Hayden Silas Anhedönia, plays O2 Academy Birmingham on 23 June 2026. Raised in Florida and later based in Alabama, she shapes a slow-burning blend of dream pop, alternative rock and ambient tones, with a subtle americana hue. The Ethel Cain persona emerged in 2019 and took form through the EPs Golden Age (2019) and Inbred (2021), where religion, family and the memory of the American South run through spacious compositions with unhurried tempos and vocals pushed to the front.

Her debut album Preacher’s Daughter (2022) extends that narrative approach with atmospheric ballads, saturated guitars and minimal arrangements, drawing on a 1990s–2000s pop and rock palette. On stage, the music is paired with carefully constructed visuals, fed by cinematic and photographic references that deepen the storytelling. Live, the set often leans into voice-forward arrangements and long crescendos, shifting from hush to distortion while keeping focus on the characters and landscapes that anchor Ethel Cain’s world.
