Skye Newman brings her South East London perspective to Brighton Centre, Brighton and Hove, on 18 November 2026. Shaped by the UK’s urban scene, she threads rap, soul and pop without showboating, leaving space for words and shifts in feeling. Raised on the move and in low-income homes, she writes from everyday realities, the paths of working-class lives and the edge of insecurity, using her own story as a way in.

Her first steps came through a jazz and blues–singing aunt who opened the door to songwriting and studios; later, echoes of Amy Winehouse, Adele, Bob Marley and Eminem coloured her palette. On stage, her sets move from warm soul melodies to near-spoken cadences and clear-cut choruses, carried by a direct, often introspective voice. With a close circle of musician friends and steady family support, she’s been growing online while keeping an intimate link to London’s culture. This date puts the writing at the centre, with songs built on detail and shared experience.
