On 27 June 2026 at Circolo Magnolia (Novegro-Tregarezzo, MI) Asia Wave Fest debuts, a new Milanese event dedicated to the alternative scenes of the Far East. The lineup features two names that illustrate its direction: Japan’s Man With A Mission and South Korea’s Synsnake.
Formed in Shibuya in 2010, Man With A Mission bring their wolf masks to the stage and a mix of alternative rock, hard rock and nu metal with rap elements. With compact riffs, direct choruses and melodic openings, the group has contributed songs to anime such as Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia and The Seven Deadly Sins, as well as the track “Raise Your Flag.” The band has played festivals in Japan and toured Europe and North America, collaborating with acts from Zebrahead to Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, and adopts a live-focused approach.
From Seoul come Synsnake, who blend metalcore, electronicore and K-pop sensibilities into what they call K-popcore. Clean vocals and grittier parts, prominent synths and measured breakdowns shape a modern, well-defined sound, first introduced through EPs and then on their debut album Fluxus (2021) on Watch Out! Records. Active on the Asian indie scene and increasingly present outside South Korea, they bring tight rhythms and well-crafted melodies to the stage.
