Delain will bring their symphonic metal to Modernes in Bremen on 3 February 2027. The project around keyboardist Martijn Westerholt has evolved since the early 2000s from a studio concept into a stable band lineup. Characteristic features: powerful guitars, prominent keyboards and melodic hooks that blend the European symphonic sound with rock and pop-metal accents. After the lineup reset in 2021, vocalist Diana Leah now fronts the current formation. With the 2023 album Dark Waters the band sharpens its profile as a quintet: tighter arrangements and clear melodic direction, without abandoning its cinematic scope. Live, orchestral density meets direct song structures — a mix that has defined Delain on international stages for years.
As special guest, Infected Rain from Chișinău will open the evening with a modern hybrid of nu metal, metalcore and groove. At the centre is Lena Scissorhands, who alternates between harsh screams and clean singing, thereby defining the songs’ tension. Syncopated riffs, shifting tempos and subtle electronic textures form the foundation the quintet has refined over the years — from early releases to Ecdysis (2022) and Time (2024). The result is a dense, rhythm-driven sound that consistently exploits the contrasts of heaviness and atmosphere and sets the stage for Delain with fitting, high-energy impact.
