Info

Sunnyside Sessions welcomes Deep Dish for an extended takeover on May 30, 2026 at Sunnyside Pavilion in Toronto. The Iranian-American duo of Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi emerged from early-90s Washington, D.C., shaping a sound that threads progressive house, deep house and tech house. Built on long arcs, gradual tension and treated vocals, their approach broke through with the 1995 remix of De’Lacy’s Hideaway, followed by reworks for Everything But The Girl, Madonna, Dido and Depeche Mode. Their albums Junk Science (1998) and George Is On (2005) sketched a melodic, nocturnal palette with tracks like Flashdance and Say Hello, while their Grammy-winning remix of Dido’s Thank You underlined their studio touch. Behind the decks, mixes for Renaissance Ibiza and Global Underground (Moscow, Toronto) mapped widescreen club narratives. After parallel solo runs post-2006, the Deep Dish project resurfaced in 2014 with Quincy and selective returns to the booth. Expect patient builds, rolling bass and crisp percussion stretched across a four-hour ride, tuned for open-air movement.
