Info

Dry Cleaning bring their clipped, observational post-punk to Foufounes Électriques in Montréal on May 3, 2026. Formed in South London in the late 2010s, the quartet lines up Florence Shaw on spoken vocals, Tom Dowse on guitar, Lewis Maynard on bass and Nick Buxton on drums. What drives their sound is a tight, repetitive rhythm section, angular guitar figures and a voice that keeps its distance to let the words do the work. Shaw’s texts pull from overheard lines, ads and fragments found online, stitched into deadpan narratives that circle the everyday. After early EPs Sweet Princess and Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks, the band sharpened its approach with New Long Leg in 2021, recorded with John Parish, then pushed contrasts further on 2022’s Stumpwork, stretching structures and leaning into slower grooves and subtle motifs. On stage, expect tension built by repetition, texture and phrasing, more about flow than big choruses.

Support comes from YHWH Nailgun, opening the night alongside Dry Cleaning.
