Identities. To mark her 80th birthday and 55 years of her career, Catherine Lara celebrates her artistic trajectory in 2025–2026 by taking on a new challenge: a collaboration with Compagnie Kumo.

On 22 May 2026 at 6:00 PM at L'EMC2, Catherine Lara and her violin will lead you into the world of the dancers of Compagnie Kumo, to the rhythm of her compositions and cinematic music. The show explores what shapes each person's identity: our relationship with social networks, our place in society and our relationship with others. A clash of generations, artistic worlds and cultures: on the surface, everything seems to set Catherine Lara and Kumo apart. Their differences bring them together for the duration of the performance. When world music meets breakdance and hip-hop, it is an encounter of identities that confront and merge.
