Psychedelic Porn Crumpets

On 8 March 2026 Psychedelic Porn Crumpets will play at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Perth-based band, led by songwriter-guitarist Jack McEwan, layers psych rock, garage, prog and a touch of stoner: thick fuzz guitars, repeating motifs and sharp tempo shifts that unfold songs into multiple strata. From their earliest releases to High Visceral Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 they have established a wall of sound and recurring melodic patterns. With And Now for the Whatchamacallit the songs were tightened up without losing their textural richness; Shyga! The Sunlight Mound raises the tempo, while Night Gnomes explores darker, more atmospheric territory.

Live, it’s all about intensity and precision: propulsive rhythms, abrupt transitions and riffs that return in new loops. There’s no straightforward verse-chorus structure; the tracks zigzag, cut out and restart, with crisp breaks and well-developed dynamics.
