Info
On 23 October 2026 Paul Carrack will perform at PHIL in Haarlem. The singer, songwriter and keyboardist from Sheffield has moved between pop-rock and soul since the 1970s. With Ace he put his name on the map thanks to "How Long"; later he made detours via Roxy Music and Squeeze, where he sang "Tempted." In the mid-1980s he became one of the voices of Mike + The Mechanics, recognizable on "Silent Running," "The Living Years" and "Over My Shoulder." At the same time he built a solo catalogue full of melodic pop, soul and ballads, from Suburban Voodoo and One Good Reason to Blue Views. His career also includes session work and tours with, among others, Eric Clapton, Elton John and Ringo Starr.
On stage Carrack combines his own material with songs from his band years. Compact pop-soul, keyboard-driven arrangements and a distinctive voice form the common thread, leaving room for well-known titles such as "How Long," "Tempted," "Silent Running," "The Living Years" and "Over My Shoulder." Expect a set that brings together his different chapters without fuss, delivered with the timing and craftsmanship of a musician who has left his mark both as a solo artist and as a collaborator. In Haarlem all of this comes together in a concise, song-focused show.
