Ontario-born and LA-based, Allie X has shaped a pop project where introspective writing meets conceptual imagery and electronic textures. After early years on Toronto’s indie and musical theatre circuits as Allie Hughes, she moved to Los Angeles and broke through with Catch in 2014, opening the CollXtion I era in 2015 and the album CollXtion II in 2017. Super Sunset (2018) probed the distance between public persona and private self, while Cape God (2020) leaned into darker, narrative tones. Alongside her own releases, she writes for other pop artists, including Troye Sivan. On stage, she weaves stylized silhouettes, precise visuals and a measured, theatrical delivery that extends the identity questions at the core of her songs. Girl With No Face (2024) continues the thread with dense synth work and direct melodies.
