Weval: CHOROPHOBIA - Album Release Tour

On February 7, 2026, Amsterdam duo Weval brings the CHOROPHOBIA Album Release Tour to The Mod Club, 722 College Street, Toronto. Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers started out in audiovisual work before turning to music in the early 2010s. Their sound moves between electronica, slow house and alternative pop: textured synths, supple basslines, and voices used as a melodic layer in their own right. From the first EP Half Age (2013, Atomnation) to the Kompakt era with Easier (2014) and the self‑titled debut album (2016), then The Weight (2019), the pair has kept refining a balance between rhythmic tension and introspective moods. The EP Changed for the Better (2020) and the album Time Goes (2023, Technicolour/Ninja Tune) pushed their writing toward tighter song structures while keeping a club pulse in play. On stage, Weval stretch grooves and play with contrasts, shaping a live set built for movement as much as for focused listening. CHOROPHOBIA anchors this tour, with new material woven into a journey across their catalog.
