Info

Emel Mathlouthi, known as Emel, a Franco-Tunisian artist, rose to prominence with "Kelmti Horra" and "Holm," two tracks associated with the uprisings of the Arab Spring. Since then, the singer, songwriter-composer and producer has forged a personal path, between electronic, pop and North African heritage. Her latest album, MRA, “woman” in Arabic, brings together 30 female collaborators drawn from multiple scenes, from production to the mic: Ami Yerewolo, Lyzza, Alyona, Camélia Jordana, Jehnny Beth. The record is conceived as a space of female voices answering one another, ranging from African trap, batucada and Arabic reggaeton to hip-hop and drum’n’bass, with lyrics oriented toward emancipation.

Over the years, Emel has expanded her projects, from performing on the Nobel stage to composing a soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed, and collaborating with Valgeir Sigurdsson, Robert Del Naja, Tricky, Vitalic and Barbara Pravi. She will present this repertoire and her new tracks on 29 May 2026 at La Cigale in Paris.
