Info
Default marks the 25th anniversary of its debut The Fallout with a home-province stop at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on October 4, 2026. Formed at the end of the ’90s and first known as Fallout, the band tightened its identity around Dallas Smith on vocals, Jeremy Hora on guitar, Dave Benedict on bass and Danny Craig on drums. Their sound sits between hard rock, post‑grunge and alternative rock: thick guitars, direct melodies, heavy textures and a vocal delivery that keeps the tension without tipping into metal. Expect a set that looks back to The Fallout (2001) and retraces the path through Elocation (2003), One Thing Remains (2005) and Comes and Goes (2009), reconnecting with the era that shaped their writing and choruses.
Opening, Wide Mouth Mason brings its Saskatoon-born blend of blues-rock with funk, soul and pop accents. Built around singer-guitarist Shaun Verreault and drummer Safwan Javed, the group has moved from the early indie days of The Nazarene (1996) and the breakout Wide Mouth Mason (1997) to the more blues-forward Rained Out Parade (2002), then a rootsier edge on Shot Down Satellites (2005), No Bad Days (2011, with Gordie Johnson) and the stripped, electric-blues feel of I Wanna Go with You (2019). A live-first approach, sharp riffs and tight grooves set the tone.
