On April 10, 2026 at the Sunset Sunside in Paris, two generations of jazz guitar meet in duo: Philip Catherine and Antoine Boyer.

A major figure in European jazz, Philip Catherine has crafted a recognizable sound, with lyrical phrasing nourished as much by Django as by the chanson tradition. From the clubs of the 1960s to large stages, he crossed paths with Lou Bennett, Dexter Gordon and Stéphane Grappelli, explored both acoustic and electric formats, and recorded notable duos with Larry Coryell. His playing favors melody, space and a supple pulse that lets each note breathe.

Opposite him, Antoine Boyer represents an agile new generation, steeped in the Manouche language and drawn to the colors of today’s jazz. He has a precise touch, subtle harmonies and a sensitivity to nuance that moves between swing, picking and contemporary counter-melodies.

Together they offer a guitar dialogue built on listening and clarity.
