Meltt

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Meltt has been developing since the mid-2010s an indie rock sound with psychedelic hues, driven by the collective work of its four members, Chris Smith, Jamie Turner, James Porter and Ian Winkler. The band blends saturated yet melodic guitars, luminous keyboard pads and airy vocals in a style that moves between alternative rock, dream pop and shoegaze influences. After an initial spotlight with the EP Visions in 2017, Meltt honed their songwriting on the album Swim Slowly in 2019, notably featuring the tracks “Love Again”, “On Your Own” and “Fool Of You”. During the pandemic the musicians composed remotely and later secluded themselves in a cabin to shape what became their second album Eternal Embers, released in 2023 on the Nettwerk label, preceded that same year by the EP Another Quiet Sunday. Meltt’s songs repeatedly explore themes of nature’s cycles, transformation and introspection, in an immersive aesthetic that places strong emphasis on sonic textures and atmospheres both in the studio and on stage.
